WHAT IS THE PTO?
The PTO is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.  The objectives of the PTO are:
To promote the welfare of our students at home, school and in the community
To foster a working relationship between home & school and parents & teachers
To conduct fundraising projects for the benefit of students and teachers

WHAT DOES THE PTO DO?
The PTO provides funds and volunteer support for MC Riley based on the needs for the school year.  Each year the PTO sets a budget of expenses based upon the requests of teachers and recommendation of the principals.  The needed income to cover the expenses come from the PTO fundraising events throughout the year.

WHAT DID THE PTO PROVIDE LAST YEAR?

Back to School Night
We reimburse each teacher up to $75 for classroom supplies that they paid for with their own money
Awards ceremony ice cream and cookies
Yearbook production
Spirit Wear Boxtops
Kona Ice & Chic-fil-A Spirit Nights
Teacher appreciation week-we provided catered lunches to the teachers, gift cards and gift baskets to the teachers
Honor Roll celebration for the students

WHY SHOULD I BE A PTO MEMBER AND A VOLUNTEER?
PTO annual basic membership is only $10.00 per family, Blue level is $20.00 per family, and Gold level is $40.

A paid membership shows your support of the PTO and entitles you to make motions and vote at regular PTO meetings.

If the PTO does not have the volunteers needed to organize and run the fund raising events, throughout the year, then the PTO does not have the funds to distribute to support the school.  The activities we do for the teachers and students are not able to happen without volunteers helping.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE PTO DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO DISTRIBUTE?
Teachers would lose funds for classroom supplies.  Funds that have helped purchase equipment, educational programs, and furniture would be gone.  Funds would not be there for Teacher Appreciation Week, yearbooks, and holiday craft fair to name just a few events that the PTO supports.
