Student-Led Community Service Project

Fifth Grade students in Mrs. Archer's class led the school in our first community service project of the year.  Two fifth graders, Brady Sacha and Lily Leto, wanted to help victims of the hurricanes this fall.  They came up with an idea, made a plan, and presented it to our principal, Mrs. Sutton.  They decided to help the pets hurt by Hurricane Irma in the Florida Keys. We held a special spirit shirt day and students were encouraged to wear a superhero shirt in exchange for a $1 donation.  The goal for the project was $600, but the total raised exceeded that goal.  The school sent a check to the Florida Keys SPCA for $651.83.
